ENSO is a renowned ski school founded in 1997 in the ski resort of Jaworzyna Krynicka. Our team consists of qualified and experienced ski and snowboard instructors keen to help you both improve your skiing abilities and make the most of your holiday. We are all licensed by the Polish Ski Association (PZN).

ENSO offers you the highest quality ski instructing on all levels, both individually and in groups. Lessons take place on the varied slopes of Jaworzyna allowing skiers a safe start as well as fast progress and taking up new challenges (sport techniques, fun curving, freeride). ENSO also has a ski garden specially adapted for children.

WHY ENSO?

Enso is a Japanese word meaning "circle" and a concept strongly associated with Zen. It is not only a common character of the Japanese calligraphy, but also a symbol. It symbolizes enlightenment, strength, elegance, the Universe and the void and is often called "the expression of the moment".

In Zen Buddhist painting, enso symbolizes a moment when the mind is free to let the body and spirit cr eate; it shows the expressive movement of the spirit at that time. Zen Buddhists believe that only a person who is mentally and spiritually complete can draw a true enso. That is why some artists practice drawing an enso as a kind of spiritual exercise.

For us drawing an enso means skiing and teaching others how to do it. We perceive skiing as something more than just a sport. For us it means experiencing the majesty and power of the mountains, the beauty of the pure nature, facing challenges and risks, training one’s character, overcoming one’s weaknesses and experimenting. If you have ever tried skiing at sunset, at sunrise or in the wide-open landscape covered by a fresh coating of powder, you surely know what we mean...

Asked about the essence of Zen, the Buddhist master Pai-chang Huai-hai said:

"when you are hungry: eat, when you are thirsty: drink, when you see a friend: great him"

We add: when you see snow – ski!
